QUESTIONS ABOUT BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENTS, INVITATIONS & HOLIDAY CARDS

How much do you charge? Click here to see our price guide.

How does it work? All you have to do is submit the photos and text that you want included, and we will do the rest! You choose the size and type of card (we offer several options to satisfy any budget) and we will design the photo card or announcement for you.

Can I see a proof before printing? Absolutely. We will send you a proof via email for your approval.

Can I make changes to the design? We pride ourselves on making sure you are completely satisfied with your order. We do not charge for any changes made before printing and we are happy to work with you until it’s perfect.

How do I get my photos to you? You can email your digital photos to us at athousandwordsproductions@comcast.net. Please send your photos straight from your camera or scanner without modification. We'll take care of any adjustments the photos need such as cropping, color correction, "red eye" removal, etc. Please only email three photos at a time, or about 4 MB. total per email.

I don’t have a digital camera. How can I send you my printed photos? You can mail your prints, scan and email them to us, or go to a photo lab (such as Kinkos) to scan of the images and mail us a cd. Please go to the Photo Restoration Questions for more details on scanning and mailing.

What if my photos aren’t great? Can you still design a nice card for me? Absolutely! We specialize in taking other people’s photos and making them even better. Feel free to send us extras so we can use what will work best for your project. If there are any photos in particular that you want us to use, just let us know. I haven’t taken any pictures that I like enough. Can you give me some tips? Take the photos in the daytime so you can take advantage of natural light (avoid using a flash if you can). If you are photographing a baby for a baby announcement, dress the baby in neutral clothing and lay him/her down on top of a blanket. Make sure that the blanket fills the entire background of the picture. Turn the date and time stamp off. Take the photo looking down on the baby, rather than to the side. When taking a picture of siblings, keep their heads close together, and again, avoid distractions such as a busy background or patterned clothing.

My pictures are in color. Can you convert them to black and white? Of course! We have a specialized conversion process so please send us photos unmodified. We can also convert your images to a beautiful sepia tone.

Can I use scans from professional or studio photos? No, unfortunately we cannot accept images for which you do not have the rights at this time.

What are the shipping and handling charges? The flat rate charge for all orders is $8.95 for shipment via US Postal Service Priority Mail. We will also send your order by Express mail for an additional fee (depending on weight of final product).

What is your return policy? We guarantee your satisfaction. If for any reason there is a problem with your printed cards, simply return them for a reprinting or a full refund.

Can I reorder photo birth announcements and cards after my initial order? Absolutely! We keep your design on file for a year, and you can reorder at any time. Just contact us for details.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DESIGN-ONLY SERVICE

What is this all about? This is a more budget-friendly way to get one of our beautiful custom-designed cards, invitations or announcements, and then print it yourself! We will create a personally designed card using your photos, and once you approve the e-proof, we will send you a high resolution jpeg for you to print.

Where can I get my own cards printed? You can use any service that will print digital photos, such as your local Costco, Target, drug store, etc. You can also upload the image to an online service, such as Ofoto or Snapfish. If you prefer, you can print the card on your home computer. The photo lab will recognize the file as a regular photograph. For instance, if you choose a 4”x6” design, you will be charged that print price by your photo lab.

What sizes do you offer? The design-only option is available in either 4x6 or 5x7 so you can choose the size print that fits your budget.

Where can I get envelopes for these? We offer envelopes in both 4x6 and 5x7 sizes.
